Our Troublesome Bodies

1961年札幌生まれ. 1984年武蔵野美術大学油画学科卒。都内で数回の油彩画の個展の後、1991年東京にてパフォーマンスアートを始める。1997年にポーランドのCastle of Imaginationに参加、以来、欧米やアジアなどで作品を発表。同時頃にグラフィックワークとしてのドローイングを始める。後にそれはパフォーマンスアートに関連づけられる。2016年、パフォーマンスアートの資料アーカイヴを始める。
近年は、人の「移動」方法として「交換」「往復」「循環」といった、人の生活の基本行動をミニマルに突き詰めたアクションに関心を持っており、主にサイトスペシフィックでデュレーショナルなスタイルで展開している。人というトラブルの多い身体にとって、何がそのように動かすのか、そして、何がそれを阻むのかといった、社会的、政治的理由についても考察する。
1961 Born Sapporo, Japan. 1991 Started performance art in Tokyo. Graduated from Musashino Art University in 1984 with a degree in oil painting. After several solo exhibitions of oil paintings in Tokyo, 1997 participated in Castle of Imagination in Poland, and since then has shown works in Europe, the U.S., and Asia. Around the same time, she began drawing as a graphic work. Later it is associated with her performance works. In 2016, she started a material / video documentation archive of performance art.
In recent years, she has been interested in actions that minimally concentrate the basic action of human life, such as “exchange,” “coming and going,” and ‘circulation’ as a method of human “move/activity,” and has developed mainly in a site-specific and durational performance. It will also examine the social and political reasons for the troublesome body known as the person, what makes it move the way it does, and what prevents it from doing so.
